Self Review

For about a month now we have been doing the targets diary. Thanks to this exercise I have come to realize some basic flaws with the way I manage my time and some other inconsistencies in my study habits. As a whole, my study habits are nonexistent, I study in bed or lying in the couch, at the stupidest times possible, and I usually have the TV or my laptop right next to me, luring me away, and yes, I tend to do the homework and other assignments just before the deadline. Since we started doing the targets diary I have been able to notice this and start working on some of these issues. I have (better or worse) set up a study area in which I actually go and do most of my studying. I have started to do my homework and assignments well ahead, the homework on the day it was assigned, if possible, or during the free periods that I have during the week, and even during work breaks. I have a new habit that I'm not sure if it is good, or not: whilst doing my assignments, if I get stuck somehow, rather than going away for a few minutes and get back to it (which usually meant watching some TV or reading a bit), I have actually started jumping to other homework or assignments and got to do them, or if not, going on the internet to browse some information related to the subject in hand. So, all and all, I believe I am doing alright, my study habits have improved because of having to face regularly what I achieve during the week and not, and it has also helped me tackle some other issues such as my never making it on time.

Yeah!!!

Hey, I'm in!!!
I can post over here same as everyboy else!!!
This is what my targets were last week:

1> Finish the assignements... I did do them, but for the literature one, which I have misplaced, so I need to da again, and by tomorrow!!!
2> Do all the homework... Yes!!!
3> Organise my notes... They're in the right folder, that's all I can say...

So, to be true, I can do more, i just usually too tired, or busy with something else. I'm still not really used to being back in fultime education, and that means I find it a bit hard to sit down and dong my homework and stuff, rather than just sitting down and watch some telly, read a book, etc. I lack the discipline, and sometimes the drive, for if you're not feeling up for it, the only person to encourage you, is your own self, adn sometimes it's just too easy leving thing for "tomorrow" and just relax for a wee while, which becomes a long while more often than not.
Last week I managed to get the two essays done, so that was one of my main targets done.

I also found out that Jerry did his masters in Irish Literature and History, which means I ask him some questions if I need help with my investigating Europe project, which is on how the British invasion of Ireland was viewed in the 1800's and now.I also managed to get to the poetry library, so have now got another bit for the investigating Europe topic to research. I didn't get round to filling in the sheets for that so will do that tonight.

I managed to study some of the tenses in Spanish and did the homework.

French homework is still waiting to be done, so will tackle that tonight along with the Investigating Europe sheets.

I also need to read chapter 2 of the history book tonight, as well as doing my Spanish homework from today.

This week, I will also try to decide what I want to do for the opinion based essay that Jerry wants by December 10, and possibly start researching, will blog how far I get tomorrow, and then I'll say whether I'm committed to that for this week as well.

Study Skills week ending 5 October

Managed to do tasks and reviews for Maths and Spanish, however as far as Investigating Europe project I seem to postpone starting to do the research. And I found out that I spent quite a fair part of my time thinking what to do. I shall have to work more on organizing my time more efficiently.
